Born and raised in Miami, FL, Mauricio is the proud 1st-generation-American son of Cuban immigrants. He attended New World School of the Arts in Miami for high school, then graduated with a BFA from Shenandoah Conservatory, before moving to NYC.
Some of his favorite theatrical credits include Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys (Broadway,
1st National Tour), Paco in Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage (Off-Bway with Joyce DeWitt and Eve Plumb, Straz Center Premiere), and Juan in Altar Boyz (Off-Bway, Cincinnati Playhouse, St. Louis Rep, Arvada Center).
Mauricio has also been featured on The Today Show, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, The Late Show with Jon Stewart, the Super Bowl and many others. He’s enjoyed giving back to his community by performing in large-scale benefit concerts and events for Broadway Cares, Broadway Barks, and volunteering for Toys for Tots, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and New York Cares.
